Project
Planning & Design
Depending on the complexity and magnitude of your project, you'll be
working with either a Sales & Project Manager or a team of Sales
Engineers, Designers and Project Managers. Experience has taught us how
important information gathering and communicating is in determining
project success: getting input from those installing and using the
system, learning about the process and operation that is to be treated,
understanding production or maintenance flows as well as ancillary
requirements such as structural, mechanical and aesthetic functions, and
allowable budget limitations.
ArtUSA will help in
planning all aspects of your project. We can present you with a variety
of technically effective products or systems and give a proposal that includes performance predictions and very competitive pricing. After an
order or contract is executed, we will provide detailed CAD drawings for
your review and approval prior to manufacture and a detailed set of
installation drawings & instructions with the shipment of
components. Whether your project requires two days or two weeks of
on-site assembly, ArtUSA can handle it from start to finish.
Project
Installation
More often than not, the success of a noise control system depends on
the expertise of the field installation crew. Not only can inexperienced
installers incorrectly assemble systems, compromising acoustical and/or
mechanical performance, but they can also cause project delays, jobsite
confusion, interruption of adjacent operations and cost overruns.
ArtUSA has employees
that specialize in the assembly of noise control systems, giving ArtUSA the
ability to provide competent, competitive installation services anywhere
in the U.S. Installation that you can count on to deliver the
performance, structural & mechanical integrity & appearance as
proposed at the project’s beginning. Turnkey projects are standard for
ArtUSA, so let us sweat the details.

OEM
Noise Control
ArtUSA has developed expertise and an impressive customer list in the OEM
market. We work closely with many industrial OEM companies to develop,
design and manufacture custom noise control treatment packages that
become part of the OEM product line.
Customizing
solutions for complex pieces of equipment requires a particular aptitude
for applying both our knowledge of noise control and the available
manufacturing methods and materials. We understand that working with the
OEM market also requires us to meet demanding quality standards and
delivery schedules.
ArtUSA has developed
noise control/safety guarding systems for:
- Pumps, Blowers, and Compressors
- Large, high tonnage stamping presses
- Diesel and Gasoline motor test cells
- Custom paper converting machinery
- Molders and Shapers
- High performance CNC stations
If
you are an OEM of potentially noisy equipment, ArtUSA can help you design
and develop a cost-effective solution to keep your products within the
noise restrictions imposed on you by your customers and maintain an edge
over your competitors.
ArtUSA
can help you stay competitive and profitable.

Health Hazard Evaluations
Through the Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE)
program, NIOSH staff evaluate noise exposures in
many workplaces. From 1986-1997, NIOSH conducted 27
HHEs that addressed noise as a hazard in industries
such as agriculture, construction, manufacturing,
transportation and service. During these evaluations
NIOSH may monitor noise exposures, survey worker
medical information, conduct worker audiometric
evaluations, assess worker use of hearing loss
protection devices and evaluate hearing loss
prevention policies and standards. The results of
the evaluations help companies assess workers
exposure to noise, evaluate and plan noise controls
and develop employee education programs on hearing
loss prevention. For a summary of the noise HHEs
call 1-800-35-NIOSH and request NIOSH publication
99-106.

Investigation of Technology for
Hearing Loss Prevention
There are numerous barriers to the
prevention of hearing loss among
miners. It is anticipated that
increased on-the-spot awareness of
hazardous noise levels and the
availability of better-suited
hearing protectors will provide a
degree of protection beyond what is
currently attained. NIOSH is
evaluating practical technological
advances in level-dependent hearing
protectors and inexpensive personal
acoustic monitors.
Definition and Assessment of
Engineering Noise Controls
This project will conduct a survey
of the availability and
effectiveness of engineering noise
controls to be found in the mines
and on construction sites and assess
the lack of noise controls, as well.
It will develop a noise-control
prioritization for mining and
construction, conduct a best
practice workshops, and prepare
publications for dissemination in
print and electronically. As a
result of this project, it should be
more feasible to deploy engineering
noise control in the mining and
construction industries; and, thus,
reduce the present noise burden
carried by miners and construction
workers. Noise control is the best
way to prevent noise-induced hearing
loss. |
