Specification B-10 LAG QFA 3 our best selling and most most typical pipe wrap

The barrier shall be constructed of a [2 mm (.10")] thick barium sulphate loaded limp vinyl sheet bonded to a thin layer of reinforced aluminum foil on one side. The barrier shall have a nominal density of (4.8 kg/m3) (1 psf) and shall have a minimum STC rating of 28. The barrier shall exhibit minimum flammability ratings of 0.0 seconds for flame out and afterglow and 0.2 inches for char length when tested in accordance with Federal Test Std. No. 191-5903. The barrier shall have a minimum thermal conductivity “K” value of 0.29 and a rated service temperature range of 40°F (-40°C) to 220°F (105°C). When tested for Surface Burning Characteristics per ASTM E84, the barrier will have a Flame Spread Index of no more than 10 and a Smoke Development Index of no more than 40.

The decoupling layer shall be a combination of 1" (25mm) fiberglass batting, non woven porous scrim-coated glass cloth, quilted together in a matrix of 4" (100 mm) diamond stitch pattern which encapsulates the glass fibers. The composite material shall be fabricated to include a nominal 6" (152 mm) wide barrier overlap tab extending beyond the quilted fiber glass to facilitate a leak-tight seal around field joints. Nominal barrier width 54” (1372 mm), nominal decoupler width 48” (1219 mm).

Acoustical pipe & duct lagging dramatically reduces the amount of noise that transmits through the walls or casing of ductwork, steel or PVC piping, valves sheetmetal enclosures, plenums, VAV units and fans. The product line is furnished in rolls, and is available in three basic styles for quick and easy installation.

Lag Series combines a loaded vinyl noise
barrier with a fibrous glass scrim reinforced aluminum foil
facing on one side. B-10 LAG is commonly used for
wrapping noisy iron, steel, and plastic pipe, ducts, valves,
and heat exchangers in a wide variety of indoor and
outdoor applications. The entire series has excellent
corrosion and outdoor weathering resistance, high
strength and excellent conformability. The reinforced foil
facing readily accepts a matching tape for quick and easy
installation.
B-10 LAG is available in combination with a nominal
1" thick (B-10 LAG/QFA-3) or 2" thick (B-10
LAG/QFA-9) quilted fiberglass decoupler on the back
of the product to form a tight fitting “floating” noise
barrier. The quilt decouples the loaded vinyl barrier
from the noise emitting surface achieving greater noise
reductions. The one-step installation of both decoupler
and barrier offers substantially lower installation costs.
This composite combination is also designed to provide
thermal insulation to reduce energy consumption.
♦ STC ratings of 26-30
♦ Easy to cut and install
♦ Accepts matching tape
♦ Good corrosion resistance
♦ Passes FMVSS 302, UL-94
♦ High and low temperature applications
